France 'is a cheaper place to live than the UK'

Overseas property owners in France could benefit from lower living costs if they live there permanently, according to a media report.
The Independent spoke to Sarah Ormerod, who moved from London to Nice last year in order to progress in her career.
She told the publication that although her job had been the main reason for the move, she had experienced a number of lifestyle improvements as a consequence.
For example, she stated that her money went further in France, as she was able to live in a more desirable area.
Ms Ormerod commented: "For the amount I was paying for a room in the suburbs of London, I can rent a lovely flat just two minutes from the sea front."
This comes several days after a new high-speed rail link between the UK and France was launched by Eurostar.
The service allows people to travel from St Pancras International to Paris in just two hours and 15 minutes.
