Christmas tourists go to France

A regional airport in the UK has highlighted the appeal of France as a holiday destination to Britons.
Norwich International named the European country as one of the most popular places among consumers from the UK who wanted to spend Christmas abroad.
The airport added that the overall number of people choosing to spend the festive season away from home had gone up this year.
Between now and the start of January, an estimated 23,000 are expected to pass through its terminals.
Louise Wilkinson, head of marketing at the airport, told the Norwich Evening News that this was due to the increased perception of air travel as a convenient means of travelling.
She commented: "Our flights are fuller than last year and there's a growing awareness that it's quick and easy."
The popularity of flying to France comes despite the recent launch of a high-speed rail link to Paris from London.
