Tourism boosts Egyptian investment potential

A property analyst has credited the tourism industry with boosting the investment potential of Egypt.
Paul Collins of the BuyAssociation website said the north African country is currently attracting more and more foreign leisure travellers.
However, he stated that its appeal is broadening beyond traditional beach and diving holidays, as some are embracing other pursuits such as golf.
This, he continued, has had a knock-on effect on the housing market, as many are either snapping up holiday homes or buying houses to rent out to holidaymakers.
Mr Collins commented: "We've seen more and more interest in tourist property in Egypt."
He added that Sharm El Sheikh is a particularly popular area among foreign investors, along with Hurghada, Dahab and El Guona.
Earlier this year, BuyAssociation named Egypt as one of its top ten international property hotspots of 2008.
