Egypt attracts British sunseekers

Many consumers from the UK are set to travel to warmer countries such as Egypt in order to escape the poor weather at home.
According to online travel agency Lastminute.com, many families are planning to visit the north African country next month.
The timing of their visit is because this year's early Easter has prompted some schools to delay the time of their breaks.
After the surge in tourism over the recent Bank Holiday weekend, this trend looks set to be repeated again during the next few weeks.
This, combined with the desire to travel to sunnier climes, will be welcomed by owners of rental property in Egypt, as it increases their chances of collecting strong returns.
John Bevan, managing director of Lastminute.com, observed: "The unusually cold weather has led to incredible demand for late Easter sun holidays."
This comes after the World Travel and Tourism Council revealed that the holiday industry in Africa has expanded by 5.9 per cent in the last 12 months.
