Britons shun traditional tourist spots

British holidaymakers are increasingly shunning traditional holiday destinations in Europe, according to experts.
Cheapflights.co.uk said a growing number of people are choosing to avoid places such as Spain because of the declining value of the pound against the euro.
The flight comparison site said consumers are instead looking to visit countries which will enable their money can go further, such as Egypt.
Francesca Ecsery, general manager of Cheapflights.co.uk, commented: "[Britons] are not prepared to wait any longer, opting to holiday outside the eurozone where they can get far better value for their money."
She added that the Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheik has become especially popular with British holidaymakers.
According to figures from the site, the number of online searches for flights to this area has gone up 50 per cent in the last 12 months.
This comes after Gulf Weekly revealed that the growth of tourism in Egypt has created a surge in demand for rental accommodation in many areas.
The news provider said resorts along the Red Sea are particularly popular, along with towns and cities on the Mediterranean coastline.
