Boxer plans to extend property portfolio

Super-middleweight boxer Joe Calzaghe has announced his intention to build up his overseas property portfolio over the next few years.
The Welsh sportsman currently owns a number of residences all over the world, including homes in Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, Venezuela and Italy.
Speaking to the Sunday Times, he stated that he intends to purchase more foreign properties when he retires from professional boxing.
These homes will provide the capital to fund his retirement and occupy more of his time as soon as his sporting commitments are over.
He commented: "I find property investment fascinating, but, as a boxer, you have to live boxing. It's 100% dedication."
Calzaghe added that since he missed the UK's property boom, he intends to benefit from capital appreciation in other countries instead.
According to the Sunday Times, the Welshman is understood to be retiring in November this year.
This would bring a glittering career, which has also seen him collect gongs such as the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year award, to an end.
