Credit crunch boosts UAE's investment potential

The ongoing credit crisis across the world could boost the investment potential of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), experts have suggested.
Analysts at ShelterOffshore.com said many countries are currently facing inflationary pressures, currency problems and a meltdown in their mortgage markets.
As a result, many investors who are based in the UAE are choosing not to venture abroad and are instead choosing to put money into projects closer to home.
This means that interest in the country among investors remains high and that its economy is still performing strongly.
According to the website, this could make it a good location for overseas property buyers to consider while the credit crunch persists.
ShelterOffshore.com said: "The UAE and Dubai real estate markets are not just surviving, they are thriving."
The website added that each emirate is worth "closer inspection" by prospective property buyers.
This comes after the Chicago Tribune reported that United Airlines will begin flying between Washington and Dubai in October.
