Britons flying out of Europe this Christmas

People from the north-east who are heading for foreign climes this Christmas are increasingly opting to go outside of Europe.
Chris Sanders, head of aviation development at Newcastle International Airport, stated many people were flying abroad in search of some winter sun.
In order to get guaranteed good weather during the festive season, exotic locations were highlighted as especially popular places to visit.
Speaking to the Northumberland Gazette, Mr Sanders said that many Britons were heading for Dubai and Egypt in particular.
He commented: "More and more people are choosing to go away for Christmas and the New Year, whether it be to join friends and family or simply to catch some winter sun."
Mr Sanders added that airport was preparing to handle about 100,000 passengers during between now and New Year's Eve.
Dubai and Egypt were also named as hotspots for Christmas holidaymakers by Lastminute.com recently, along with the Cape Verde islands.
