Property in Cyprus 'increasing in value'

Cyprus offers high levels of capital appreciation to overseas property buyers, according to an expat from the UK.
Charlie Burrell retired to the Mediterranean island in 1999 and bought a home near Paphos for £82,600.
However, he told the Sunday Mail that the fast rate of growth in the Cypriot property market led to his house more than doubling in value in subsequent years, appreciating in value to £192,000 today.
He commented: "The house has been a great investment but for us the most important thing has been the change to our lifestyle."
Mr Burrell stated that the weather was one of the main benefits of Cyprus, as it enabled him and his wife to enjoy outdoor activities such as gardening, going to the beach and entertaining friends.
He added that the lifestyle on the island was more relaxed than in the UK.
The Foreign Property Buyer website recently predicted that the annual rate of house price inflation on the island would rise from 20 to 30 per cent as soon as it joined the euro next year.
