Holiday homes owners drive up Cyprus house prices

Lifestyle buyers who own a property in Cyprus could also be in line to enjoy financial rewards, according to a media outlet.
Gulf Weekly stated that the Mediterranean island is becoming very popular with foreigners who want a holiday home abroad, partly because it offers good weather all year round.
However, the publication stated that high demand for housing in hotspots such as Paphos has led to house prices going upwards.
This means that anyone who chooses to sell up further down the line could potentially make a considerable profit.
Gulf Weekly commented: "This is a solid market where properties are known to more than hold their value."
The media outlet added that Paphos also offers close proximity to a major international airport, which means any properties in the region are easily accessible.
According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, house price inflation in Cyprus outpaced rival markets such as Spain and France in 2007.
