Cyprus tourism 'could be boosted by publicity'

Cyprus could be set for a boom in the tourist sector after the launch of a new promotional drive.
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) has set up the initiative to highlight the many facets of the island, reports the Financial Mirror.
In an attempt to broaden the appeal of the island to a wider group, aspects such as its cultural and historical heritage will be highlighted.
It is hoped that the drive will make people see the island as much more that a good place for a beach holiday.
People will be able to take part in the series of events, which are being staged both in Cyprus and in other countries.
For example, the CTO will be giving both visitors and locals the chance to sample authentic rural cuisine at a special event at Paphos harbour on Saturday.
Last month, Paul Tomlin from Buy Abroad said that Britons who were interested in investment property in Cyprus were attracted by the island's retention of its character.
