Cyprus property increases in value

A lifestyle buyer has revealed that his property in Cyprus has significantly appreciated in value in recent months.
According to Derek Wallis, his beachfront villa is now worth 40 per cent more than the amount it was purchased for eight months ago.
Speaking to the Daily Record, he and his wife revealed that they purchased the residence in order to spend their retirement overseas.
However, his comments suggest that people who own an investment property in Cyprus could also benefit from considerable capital growth.
Commenting on the Mediterreanean island, Mrs Wallis stated that it appealed partly because there are good transport links with Britain.
She said: "You can get year-round flights to Cyprus from most regional airports in the UK, including some good low-cost flights."
According to property author Nigel Howarth, the Mediterranean island is currently attracting both holiday home buyers and property investors.
Speaking to the Telegraph, he attributed its popularity to factors such as the slower pace of life, the warm climate and favourable tax regime.
