Cyprus airports report increased passenger numbers

Overseas property investors in Cyprus could benefit from more rental income after new figures showed increased visitor numbers this year.
Data from Hermes Airports showed that the number of people passing through the airport at Larnaca reached 565,000 last month, reports the Financial Mirror.
This was 5.27 per cent higher than during October 2006.
Meanwhile, passenger numbers at Paphos International Airport rose to 210,000 people, up 0.54 per cent on the previous year.
Overall, this means an increase of 5.25 per cent between October 2006 and 2007, a positive trend that may bode well for investment prospects in the country.
Commenting on the findings, Hermes Airports' marketing manager Jenni Fernando said: "October was another good month for passenger traffic at both airports as we approach the end of the summer season."
Meanwhile, Lufthansa German Airlines has announced that from next spring, it will offer a service between Munich and Larnaca.
