Cyprus a "safe place to buy"

Increasing numbers of British buyers are looking to the Cypriot market, according to industry specialists.
With membership of the eurozone impending, Cyprus offers great potential for long-term investment, especially on the eastern side of the island.
John Reilly, of property firm Buy Abroad, said that the expansion of Larnaca airport would allow for excellent rental income.
He confirmed the growing appeal of Cyprus for UK investors, saying:
"We're flat out in Cyprus. It's probably the most popular country we do and we're experiencing a real upsurge of interest in Cyprus."
Mr Reilly also asserted the strengths of Cyprus as an investment destination:
"It's also, for English people, a very safe place to buy: they have the Land Registry system, the same as we do here; everybody speaks English; they drive on the left."
"It's a very good place to either retire to or buy an investment property in," he added.
Mr Reilly's comments follow the recent news that the Cypriot market has seen seven consecutive months of increase in year-on-year house prices.
