Briton invests in property in Cyprus

A second home buyer from the UK has spoken of her decision to purchase an investment property in Cyprus.
Marion Fivey, a nurse from Falkirk in Stirlingshire, has just purchased a one-bedroom apartment near Paphos for £196,000.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, she revealed that she plans to use the property as an investment in the hope that the generated wealth will fund her retirement.
Ms Five said she took the action after realising her projected pension income was far below the amount she was expecting.
She commented: "My financial advisor said the best move was to invest abroad.
"We wanted it to have maximum rental potential and Cyprus is a great bet for this."
Ms Fivey added that the area they have invested in is popular with holidaymakers from across Europe and with Cypriot nationals.
This means that she could potentially benefit from a strong rental market in the region.
According to Lastminute.com, the number of summer bookings for the Mediterranean island is 32 per cent up on this time last year.
