Investment Property in Cyprus

Locations - Limassol

Large resident population

Limassol is Cyprus’s second largest city, and as well as its attractive coastal strip it also has a range of cultural and archaeological attractions that are popular with tourists. As well as the seasonal influx of visitors, Limassol is home to many students who study at the Cyprus University of Technology, also situated in the city. Being a large city, the property market in Limassol is driven by demand for residential and commercial property as well as holiday accommodation, lending extra stability and security to the market.

Property market

Property in Limassol has recently come to the attention of real estate investors and as a result there has been an increase in property development in the area. It has a reliable tourist market and sizeable resident population which totals around 135,000 out of season and rises significantly in the summer months.

Charming old town

The city and surrounding area have 16km of developed coastline, with large stretches backed by apartment blocks and hotels. Away from the hotel strip, the city’s old town is a welcome contrast with its warren of alleyways, sturdy levantine stone buildings and cafés serving excellent meze.

Year-round market

One area where Limassol really does deliver is in the field of winter breaks. As a large and functioning town, its services are available all year round, so it does not suffer from the quiet, out-of-season feel of some smaller resorts.

Lively nightlife

Yermosogea is the main tourist area of the city and where a large portion of the holiday accommodation properties in Limassol can be found. This is also where you will find most of Limassol’s nightlife, although the old town has many quieter bars and restaurants where a more authentic Cypriot experience can be found.

Industrial centre

Limassol remains the industrial and maritime centre of Cyprus and is the largest Mediterranean port for tourist and trade transit. It is also renowned for its wine-making. Historically Limassol has been the centre of Cyprus’s wine trade and almost all exports of wine and spirits were made from locally produced Limassol port.

People arriving to Limassol by air come into either the airport at Paphos or the airport at Larnaca and drive for around one hour before they reach the city.
