Emerging markets recommended to investors
Prospective property buyers have been advised to consider possible investment opportunities in eastern Europe.
FirstRungNow.com stated that many countries in the region have recently seen strong growth in their housing markets.
This means that investors who purchased a house before the surge in prices would now be able to make a profit should they choose to sell up.
Since prices are continuing to head upwards, buyers who enter the market could find themselves in a similar position in the near future.
FirstRungNow.com said eastern Europe offers a much more lucrative investment market than other countries within the continent, such as Spain and France.
Helen Adams, managing director of the group, commented: "In less obvious places, you're more likely to get the growth that you need."
She added that property values in eastern Europe have gone up "considerably" in the last few years.
According to Holiday-Rentals, Croatia in particular is becoming increasingly popular with UK-based property investors.
