Eastern Europe to attract city break tourists

Many holidaymakers who are taking city breaks abroad this year have been tipped to visit eastern Europe.
According to the Post Office, consumers in the UK have been seeking to reduce their expenditure as a result of the credit crunch and related economic problems.
As a result, many are choosing to save money by visiting more affordable holiday destinations where their general expenses will be significantly reduced.
Helen Warburton, head of travel at the Post Office, remarked: "Costs in eastern Europe are generally lower than in the western cities so the price of items like drinks and souvenirs should be less."
She highlighted the Polish city of Krakow as one place that is likely to be especially popular with Britons this year, along with Dubrovnik in Croatia.
This should be good news for investors who have purchased rental accommodation in major eastern European cities, as it means their residences will be in demand.
According to Holiday-Rentals, Croatia in particular is becoming increasingly popular with UK-based property investors.
