Croatia attracts Austrian visitors

Croatia is proving to be a highly popular holiday location among Austrian consumers, new figures have revealed.
According to data from tourism research institute IFT, ten per cent of Austrians who headed abroad last year visited the eastern European country, reports Wiener Zeitung.
This means it was more popular among this consumer group than many other major holiday destinations, including Turkey and Spain.
However, Italy was found to be the most popular foreign destination overall, with 14 per cent of Austrians visiting the country.
IFT figures showed that mainland Europe easily dominated people's destination choices and that it is likely to do so again this year.
A poll found that of those who area heading abroad in 2008, 63 per cent are planning to visit another part of the continent.
This comes after Holiday-Rentals highlighted the growing popularity of Croatia among UK-based property investors.
