Property exhibitions 'promote emerging markets'

Interest in emerging property markets among British investors has been fuelled by live property exhibitions, it has been claimed.
According to A Place in the Sun Live, destinations such as Cape Verde have attracted attention in recent years because of these events.
Darren Styles, chief executive of the show, said the associated television show and magazine has also played a part in promoting these markets to Britons.
He commented: "We've broken whole new destinations - Cape Verde, for instance - and delivered a broad, multi-layered exhibition that has brought in thousands of new buyers from the mass market."
Mr Styles added that the A Place in the Sun brand has championed foreign property ownership to the widest possible audience.
Indeed, the television programme on Channel 4 regularly attracts about 3.5 million viewers.
This echoes recent comments in the Mirror, which said property values in Cape Verde are going up partly because of shows such as A Place in the Sun.
