More holidaymakers arrive in Cape Verde

Rental investors in Cape Verde have seen a recent increase in the number of tenants, according to new figures.
Official statistics cited by A Semana showed that during the first six months of 2007, more than 156,000 people stayed in the country's holiday accommodation.
This is 15.5 per cent higher than the number recorded during the same period of 2006, which means that many property owners will be collecting higher rental returns.
Cape Verde was found to be a particularly popular holiday destination with European leisure travellers.
The largest proportion of foreign visitors were said to have come from Portugal and Italy, while a significant number of German and British travellers was also recorded.
The growing tourist trade in Cape Verde could potentially make the country a more attractive destination for foreign property buyers to consider.
Advice website BuyAssociation recently suggested that investors look at the market during 2008.
