Cape Verde praised by prime minister

Cape Verde's prime minister has spoken positively about the transformation the country has seen in recent years.
According to Jose Maria Neves, developments such as joining the World Trade Organisation have helped the nation to become far more competitive.
This, he said, means it has been able to perform well amid the current downturn in the global economy.
Mr Neves commented: "The economy is stronger, more competitive and the prestige and credibility of Cape Verde in the world are up."
He added that the reforms in the country have also led to numerous infrastructure improvements, such as upgrades to its road network and airport facilities.
This is likely to be of interest to people who own an investment property in Cape Verde, as these developments could enhance the desirability of the location among prospective buyers.
The comments come soon after Rhiannon Davies of Shelter Offshore said the government in Cape Verde is doing "all it can" to facilitate investment and encourage foreign real estate ownership.
