Airlines 'have opened up Cape Verde'

Improved transport links have helped to boost the popularity of Cape Verde as a holiday destination, experts have said.
BuyAssociation stated that the west African archipelago was attracting more visitors because the introduction of direct flights from Europe had made it more accessible.
This, he stated, was one of the reasons for its appeal among overseas property buyers, along with its good climate.
Paul Collins, overseas property editor for BuyAssociation, commented: "It's popular with people looking for the new emerging markets."
He added that since the weather was quite similar to that in the Caribbean, it was marketed as an alternative choice for European leisure travellers.
Mr Collins stated that this made it very suitable for people enjoyed outdoor activities such as windsurfing and other water sports.
The comments come shortly after Cape Verde's national airline TACV launched direct flights between the islands and the UK.
