Sportsman becomes property investor

Champion boxer Joe Calzaghe has spoken of his decision to invest in rental property overseas.
The Welsh sportsman recently purchased a one-bedroom apartment in the Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko at a cost of just over £46,000.
Speaking to the Western Mail, he revealed that he has also spent £44,750 on an apartment on the Turkish coast.
Commenting on his acquisitions, Calzaghe commented: "I'm more into sunshine than skiing so I will go out to the place in Turkey more regularly."
He stated that he was keen to relax after periods of intensive training, which means the house in Bansko is more of an investment than a holiday home.
Calzaghe added that he bought his first overseas property have being inspired by the A Place in the Sun television programme on Channel 4.
According to a recent poll by the show's tie-in magazine, Spain is currently the most popular destination among British investors, followed by France.
