Eastern Europe attracts property buyers

Overseas property buyers from the UK are increasingly choosing to invest in eastern Europe, new research has revealed.
Figures from Holiday-Rentals showed that although countries such as Spain and Portugal had retained their dominance, investors were increasingly opting for less-established markets.
The organisation said there had been large increases in the number of people choosing to buy properties in Bulgaria in particular during the last three years.
Croatia was flagged up as another country that had attracted extra interest during this period.
Commenting on the findings, Holiday-Rentals cited a number of possible reasons.
The group remarked: "Factors these countries have in common include good value property, recently improved accessibility [and] high capital growth rates."
Holiday-Rentals added that both countries were also attracting more and more leisure travellers from overseas.
This comes after the Foreign Property Buyer website said that investment from other countries has had a "positive impact" on the Bulgarian economy.
