Bulgaria 'popular with Germans'
German consumers are increasingly choosing to take their holidays in Bulgaria, according to a study.
Urlaub Perfekt asked leisure travellers to name their favourite tourist destinations, with the eastern European country making it to fifth place.
The country was found to be highly rated because it was an affordable location that was also a family-friendly place to visit.
In a poll of 1,200 readers, a total of 255 people picked Bulgaria as their favourite holiday destination, with the Black Sea region said to be especially popular.
The research also assessed other criteria, such as the quality of holiday accommodation and customer service in each location.
Meanwhile, VisitBulgaria.net has reported that the country is becoming very popular with golfers, as developers are creating new courses in different areas.
The portal added that Bulgaria was also attracting a large number of winter sports fans, as it offered good facilities for activities such as skiing.
