Bulgaria 'is cheaper place to live than UK'

Bulgaria could be a good place in which to live because it has a cheaper cost of living than the UK, it has been suggested.
The Metro newspaper said the country, which recently joined the EU, was much less expensive than Britain in areas such as its housing market.
Property prices in the UK were described as "high", prompting the publication to highlight the going rate for a two-bedroom flat in Bulgaria's capital - £22,000.
Other savings made by living in Bulgaria were also highlighted, as recreational activities such as eating out were said to be much less expensive.
The newspaper said that if a person chose to eat out in a good restaurant, they would be expected to pay less than £6 for their meal.
This contrasts with a recent report by Zagat which claimed that London was the most expensive city in the world in which to eat out.
Figures showed that consumers dining at a restaurant in the UK capital would pay an average of £39 each, making it more expensive than other major cities including Paris and New York.
