Bulgaria attracts British tourists

Leisure travellers from the UK are increasingly opting to visit Bulgaria for their holidays, an expert has stated.
According to Claire Lilley from Holiday Which? magazine, the eastern European country is attracting a growing number of British consumers.
She said that although established holiday destinations such as Spain were likely to always remain popular with Britons, many were seeking new experiences elsewhere.
This, she added, was partly because many people were heading overseas more than once a year, which meant they did not want to do the same thing on each trip.
Ms Lilley commented: "Eastern Europe is still booming - places like Bulgaria are on the agenda a lot more."
However, she said traditional holiday destinations would always remain popular with people who wanted "hassle-free" breaks, in particular those with families.
Bulgaria recently marked its first year as a member of the European Union after joining in January 2007.
