Tourism to boost Brazil's investment prospects

Owners of an investment property in Brazil may be in line to benefit from growing tourism in the country.

According to a study by Vision/Totem, the number of people taking a holiday overseas could go up to as much as 1.1 billion by 2010, reports TravelMole.

Valere Tjolle, editor of the report, said this increase has been fuelled by the emergence of new tourism hotspots across the world, in particular Latin America.

This is likely to be a positive development for those who have invested in property in countries such as Brazil, especially if it is being used as rental accommodation for holidaymakers.

Ms Tjolle commented: "New markets are being opened up faster than old ones are slowing.

"Latin America [has] got an increasing appetite for tourism."

According to NuBricks.com, the Brazilian economy is continuing to perform strongly despite the global economic slowdown and rising oil costs.

Indeed, the online portal has stated that its gross domestic product could go up by 4.8 per cent this year.
