British tourists leave Europe

A new poll has found that the weakness of the pound against the euro is influencing people's travel habits.
According to Moneysupermarket.com, nearly one in three Britons are thinking of leaving the eurozone because of the poor exchange rate.
Peter Gerrard, head of insurance research at the price comparison site, said the findings are not surprising, as the pound has fallen by more than 16 per cent against the euro since September.
He commented: "Whether you're a sun-seeker, adrenaline-junkie or culture vulture, we all want to get the best value for our hard earned cash and it seems Europe may not be the place to do that this summer."
Mr Gerrard added that holidaymakers are considering whether booking a more expensive flight to a long-haul destination is a better-value alternative to "paying through the nose" in Europe.
Meanwhile, American Express has revealed that Britons who are feeling the pinch of rising living costs in the UK are making cutbacks in order to free up money for a holiday abroad.
