British expat praises Brazil

An expatriate from the UK has outlined her reasons for setting up home in South America.
Alison McGowan, a musician and marketing consultant from London, moved to Brazil in 2002 following an earlier stint in the country in the 1980s.
Speaking to the Times, she stated that a number of factors encouraged her to return to Rio de Janeiro and live in the city full-time.
She commented: "I always loved the lifestyle, the music, the climate and the spirit of Brazilian people."
Ms McGowan added that although she moved to the city six years ago, it was only in 2005 that she got round to actually buying a property.
However, she said people can get "great value for money" in the Brazilian rental market, as affordable lodgings are available in "fabulous" locations.
According to independent analysts Amberlamb, all the hype surrounding the Brazilian property market is not without justification, as it has affordable property prices and a desirable climate.
