Brazil continues strong showing

In good news for UK investors looking for profitable property in South America, the Brazilian economy is maintaining its healthy growth rate.
New government figures reveal that GDP growth in the first quarter of 2007 was 4.3 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
Guido Mantega, finance minister for Brazil, discussed the findings with news agency Bloomberg:
"I am satisfied with the figure," he said, "because it shows the economy is expanding robustly and being accompanied by growth in the domestic market and investments."
Along with Russia, India and China, Brazil has been earmarked as one of the BRICs economies, expected to eclipse the current world leaders by 2050.
Its growing economic strength, coupled with rising personal wealth, increasing employment and a significant supply of raw materials make Brazil one of the most lucrative investment destinations for foreign homebuyers.
The ease of investigating property in the country was recently enhanced by an agreement between Delta Air Lines and GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes, allowing connections from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo to 58 other Brazilian destinations.
