Brazil attracts overseas property investors

Brazil is attracting overseas property investors at a time when major western markets like the US and UK are suffering from an economic downturn.
The fact that Brazil has diversified its economy and successfully dealt with inflation means that property is now very desirable for holiday home seekers and investors alike, reports the Gulf Weekly.
As well as stable yields, the real estate marketplace is holding its own, especially in the coastal areas on north-east side of the country,
In fact, these areas have seen "record" real estate price gains in both the residential and commercial sector.
As a result, the demand for property for property and land is escalating, thereby driving up resale prices.
Earlier this week, Brazil's economic miracle was the feature of a report by Newsnight. The current affairs programme found that San Paulo stock market has been almost entirely unaffected by falls in the FTSE and other major trading platforms.
The programme also highlighted the rate of property development in the city, which is home to around 18 million people.
